OUCH OUCH OUCH. the soreness level went from bad to worse. haha. we're all pretty much feeling it. i have blisters already! i guess i'm not used to such intense classes yet. it hurts to walk up stairs, and it doesn't help that the elevator is broken at the studio. haha. we got placed in our levels today. i love everyone in my level, sage. i guess they went with different types of plants this year. there is sage, moss, fern, mint and pine. we had Douglas Martin for morning class. he's always enthusiastic which puts me in a good mood for the day. then we had body mechanics with Mary Pat Robertson, where i learned i have a pretty strong core haha. then after lunch we had another ballet class with Laurie Abramson, her different perspective and teaching style challenged me to work differently. finally we had Mary Barton teach a repertory class where we learned excerpts from Romeo and Juliet. it was so much fun! but what made it even more fun was dancing with my friends.

PBS Summer Intensive Insider
today was the first day of princeton ballet school's summer intensive!!! it was awesome seeing so many new people from all over the world. students came from as far away as japan, italy, spain, france, and even south africa! i also met people from all over the united states. it was great to see how easy it was for all of us to melt together into the arbfamily. i was even more happy to see my friends from the year round progam whom i have not seen in months. the combination of reuniting with old friends and making new ones excites me for the next 5 weeks to come! it was really cool to see my teachers again like, Douglas Martin, Maria Youskevitch, Mary Barton, Kathleen Moore and Mary Pat Robertson. I missed my arbfamily, and now its even bigger! i can't wait to start rehearsing for the performance at the end of the intensive. the performance consists of both faculty choreographed pieces and student choreography. however, the first day was pretty rough on my body! my friends and i agreed it was a hard and painful day for our little toes and sore muscles. although it was strenuous on our bodies, our hearts and spirits were high in anticipation for the weeks to come.
